A Mission to Bring Hope.
Our vision is to equip people all around New Zealand to journey alongside anyone with a life-limiting illness, while offering Christian spiritual support which is full of hope for them and their whānau.
The Hub of Hope NZ vision has been created as an active response to the increasing needs of organisations seeking pastoral care for their clients.
About Mike Porteous
Mike Porteous is the Chair of Hub of Hope NZ. While working as the Community Pastor at Gracecity, Mike met Barbara Broome – a patient representative on a Ministry of Health group. Their focus was on addressing the growing aging population and limited health resources while ensuring compassionate care for those with life-limiting illnesses.
While the group was grappling with these issues, God spoke to Barbara that the Christians would be the answer. This revelation sparked a journey that led us to develop an impactful eLearning course, now receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from trial groups. It’s truly inspiring to see how faith and dedication can drive meaningful change.
