About One Heart Auckland
We long to see Tāmaki Makaurau flourish—both spiritually and socially. Inspired by the vision of the Church working together as one body (1 Corinthians 12:12), church and Christian organisation leaders came together to pray, listen, and dream about a more united response to Auckland’s greatest challenges. Drawing on the Auckland 2050 Plan and a successful collaboration model from Bristol, UK, they identified five shared priorities: homelessness, food insecurity, family violence, youth wellbeing, and social isolation. From this vision, One Heart Auckland was born.
Today, Action Teams are bringing together churches, ministries, businesses, and community organisations to collaborate around these priorities, with the goal of launching practical projects that create lasting impact. By sharing resources, expertise, volunteers, and opportunities, we believe the Church can achieve far more together than any one organisation can alone. We recognise that city-wide collaboration is challenging, but we are committed to learning, praying, and building a coalition of the willing for the flourishing of Tāmaki Makaurau.
About Wee-Yeong
Wee-Yeong is a husband, father, and pastor who loves Jesus, his family, and a weekly game of squash or solving a Rubik’s Cube. He is passionate about seeing the next generation come to know Christ and is currently undertaking doctoral research on equipping Christians to engage unchurched young adults in an increasingly post-Christian culture. Wee-Yeong serves part-time with the Auckland Church Network, where he leads the Serving Neighbourhoods initiative, helping churches work together for the spiritual and social flourishing of their communities.
Prayer Points
1) Pray that God would stir the hearts of everyday Christians with the same compassion and conviction He gave Nehemiah for the flourishing of his city.
2) Pray that church leaders would embrace a renewed vision for the spiritual and social flourishing of their communities.
3) Pray that churches would be willing to invest generously—practically, strategically, and financially—in serving their neighbourhoods and advancing God’s mission.
4) Pray that the Church’s influence would grow across local communities and public life, so that through humble service, the hope of Christ would be seen, trusted, and welcomed.
