Monday's Messages

Promoting prayer throughout the week

We know everyone can’t make it to our meetings, but the beauty of prayer is that it isn’t constrained by time. This section is where you can keep up with the messages that are shared in our meetings and some of the resources that are created to facilitate prayer, meditation, and reflection.

Rebuilding the Temple

When Israel returned from 70 years in Babylonian exile, they immediately set about rebuilding their own panelled houses. Meanwhile, the Temple of God lay in ruins. What if this is an ancient metaphor that reveals a significant cause of the decline in NZ Christian churches, and Christianity generally, in our nation today? What if we’ve been so busy building strong denominations, that we’ve allowed the Temple to fall into disrepair and ruin? In the attached document and video, Ps. Nigel Irwin from MoveNZ.org lays a strong case for this. Weaving together passages from Haggai, 2 Chronicles, 1 Corinthians, and John, Ps. Nigel exhorts Christian leaders across the nation to pitch in and work for unity – for the sake of the Gospel, the Kingdom, and God’s glory on earth.

6 April Reflections by Rev Dr Stuart Lange

As we pray for the spiritual health of Aotearoa, which do you think is a greater problem? The spiritual blindness and sins of society as a whole, or the spiritual blind spots and sins of the body of Christ in the land of Aotearoa?

WHY we pray

Ps David Dishroon of Changepoint Church, Tauranga, shares his thoughts from John 12:20-23 and its emphasis on the ‘why’ we pray, not just the ‘how’ to pray.

“Prayer in the Holy Spirit unifies. This is what it will do FIRST for the Body of Christ in the nation. Then the God ordained destiny of this nation will emerge with greater clarity. That’s what’s at stake.”
