Dunedin | Gabriel Chan

In Dunedin, God has been stirring the churches to a greater unity. This unity is largely centred around a move of prayer that is welling up and gaining momentum across the region. We have hosted Open Heaven in Dunedin for the last 3 years, with attendance growing from 800 – 2,000. Delegates from Oamaru, Alexandra, Balclutha, Invercargill have all journeyed to join us in praying for the south. Throughout the year, the churches of Dunedin gather for a quarterly prayer meeting. There is a fresh openness to the gospel in places like the University of Otago, and we’re looking to reach out more intentionally in that space. Generally, there’s a sense that we’re moving forward together.

Prayer Points

– as we prepare for students to arrive in Dunedin in 2026, that we would prepare anointed, God directed initiatives to present the gospel to young people – including initiatives like Alpha

– that more broadly, the churches in the region would be united in worshipping Jesus and loving our regions in practical ways, with the incredible need that is all around us

– that we would be part of the move of God happening across the world, with people returning to church and fresh commitments to Christ

– that there would a sense of the call of God stirred in the churches of the region, for new leadership to rise and dream about the purposes of God for the future of this region

Invercargill | Keith Harrington

We completed 22 weeks of “soaking the city in prayer” as each church takes a week to prayer intensively for the city. This time closed with a combined service called ” simply worship”. We also meet about every 8 weeks as pastors and leaders. There is a spiritual openness over the city, that many are sensing. Youth leaders across churches are working collaboratively.

Prayer Points

– that God will continue to work in the hearts of church leaders, esp those who in the past have been resistant to meeting together

– that God would continue to draw people back to himself, those who have never known him and those who have moved away

– that we will be able to build a connection with the new mayor and council
