About Rev Michael Tane
Kia ora, ko Michael Tane tōku ingoa. Nō Oromahoe me Te Tii Waitangi ahau. Ko au te Mihana Māori o Pēwhairangi.
My name’s Michael Tane and I hail from Oromahoe and Te Tii, Waitangi. I am the Māori Missioner in the Bay of Islands.
My wife Robyn and I moved north in December of 2023 from Tāmaki Makaurau. I was ordained a priest in the Mihingare church at Oihi in January 2024, before taking up the Missioner role here in the Bay of Islands. I am also the general manager of our Hui Amorangi Trust Board and Police Chaplain for the Mid-North.
Becoming a Mihingare priest was a surprise, for a Catholic School raised, Pentecostal. However it all emanated from a God-given dream shortly after I was saved in 1994. I look forward to sharing my story further with you tonight.
