Alpha
Alpha first began at Holy Trinity Brompton church in London and was established by Nicky Gumbel in 1990, the number of people attending Alpha grew rapidly. Across the world, over 30 Million people have experienced Alpha. It is also available in over 100 languages.
Alpha New Zealand was first established as a National Alpha Office over 30 years ago and exists to support the local church in its mission by providing courses such as the Alpha Course in its various forms and relationship courses such as Marriage & Parenting.
Working closely with Alpha International and with a team of 11 staff, we aim to support all churches and organisations, of all denominations, across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. We do this by supporting churches with resources and tools that help create a space where people are excited to bring their friends for a conversation about Jesus. And, where couples can have a private space to focus on their relationship and where parents or caregivers can be equipped.
Our big dream is that by 2033 everyone everywhere, has the opportunity, to explore faith in Jesus. Alpha is dedicated to support Churches to fulfill the Great Commission, reaching out to their local communities.
