Steve and Rosemary Garland share some prayer needs for Waikato after the recent storms.

Steve and Rosemary with their 1 year old daughter moved from Auckland to Coromandel township in 1984 to begin a market gardening business – a significant lifestyle change. At this time we also became actively involved in the local Elim church, serving where needed. The market gardening business came to an abrupt halt after 6 years, when the property where they leased land for growing courgettes and tomatoes was sold.

Steve worked as a courier driver until 1993, when the call of God to take up the shepherd’s crook came. By now their family had expanded to 3 children, Heather, Michael and Victoria. This was ratified by the leadership of the Elim Church of NZ, and in May of that year Steve and Rosemary became probationary pastors. Steve was ordained 23rd May 1998 Steve and his wife Rosemary have served in the Coromandel Elim Church for 30 years.

Prayer Points:

Joel 3:14 – Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.

May these events cause people to turn to God…

  • Prayer for those families who face losing their homes or have suffered property damage. Particularly Koputauaki Bay with the debris dam threat above the Marae and homes.
  • Prayer for the many businesses suffering from the economic impact the storms have had on them.
  • Prayer for the repairs to road infrastructure and the contractors working to clear and repair slips and erosion.
