About cbm
cbm New Zealand (Christian Blind Mission International New Zealand) is an international Christian development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world. Based on its Christian values and over 100 years of professional experience, cbm addresses the cycle that is often experienced between poverty and disability. cbm seeks to achieve their mission by undertaking quality international programmes and raising funds and awareness. They work in partnership with local organisations to implement programmes in various development and humanitarian areas such as eye health, rehabilitation, inclusive education, livelihoods, and disaster preparedness and response.
Prayer requests:
- Pray that any negative attitudes to people with disabilities will be challenged.
- Pray for the cbm country teams around the world, in the context of severe cuts to global aid budgets.
- Pray for the work of the cbm New Zealand (Christian Blind Mission) staff team as they raise funds and plan programmes for and with people with disabilities. Deep gratitude for generous financial supporters of cbm in New Zealand. May God raise up many more! Pray for the Rohingya refugees who fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh, as they face overcrowded living conditions and an uncertain future.
- Please pray that cbm’s newly released Bible Study called Belonging – Reflecting on Disability Inclusion in the Church will be a blessing and a powerful resource for embracing God’s heart for inclusion in New Zealand church and school communities. May God open hearts and minds for conversations so that all His children, including children and adults with disabilities, may feel a true sense of belonging: https://cbmbiblestudy.org.nz/
